The training covers:

  • pre-consultation communication with clients
  • the purpose of initial consultations
  • behaviour change
  • walking with your client on a unique journey
  • completing the client journey
  • developing your own style
  • reflection and evaluation

There will be lots of opportunity to practice your skills during the training, receive feedback and understand how the client feels during their interactions with you. This course is not a webinar, although you will learn lots of theory too, it is an interactive session.

Who is the course for?

This course is open to nutritionists registered with the Association for Nutrition, those on AfN accredited courses or those on courses that are eligible for portfolio entry. The course is aimed at UK-based nutritionists, however, it is open to non-UK nutritionists. Whether you work as a freelancer or are employed, this course is for you.

What does the course cost?

The course is £125 per person (plus a £10 surcharge for postage to non-UK participants for the online training). It is delivered either face to face as a full day or online over two half days.

Can I get some 1-1 time with the trainer?

optional add on: Following feedback, I am now offering an add on to this training. The add on is a one to one session delivered online where you will be the nutritionist and I will act as the client. You will deliver a 45-minute consultation with me and then I will give feedback on your technique and advise how you can improve – the total session is 90 minutes.

This is in addition to the role play within the training and provides more in-depth feedback and practice time. The add on is £75 if booked with the training, or £100 if booked at a later date.

Why do this training, when others are available?

  • Interactive sessions with case studies and the opportunity for feedback.
  • Small groups so you have time to have your questions answered and get input in the role-play sessions.
  • Handout pack posted to you.
  • Experienced trainer – experienced both in delivering 1-1s and in professional development.
