Follow Nutritionist Resource team member Elle, as she blogs her way to a healthy 2013…





I’m Elle – 5”3, clean freak, cooking enthusiast, slightly squidgy round the edges and part of the team here at Nutritionist Resource. I shall be writing a regular post to tell you of new and exciting recipes, my top tips for a healthy lifestyle, my views on the latest news in the world of food and nutrition and much more!

At the beginning of 2012, I was the heaviest I had ever been. I wore huge lumpy cardigans to cover my arms and shape (round!) and the idea of going on holiday with my partner in three months absolutely terrified me. This was the time to do something about it. I joined the gym, went as often as I could and ate a healthy balanced diet. It took a lot of hard work, determination and more tears than I care to remember; but by the time it came to our holiday I had lost just over two stone – hurrah!

I took a break from the diet and exercise around the middle of the year and put on 10 pounds – booo! BUT, I got back on the wagon and managed to lose just over another stone before the year was out.

I am normal – just like you. I have good days and bad days. Sometimes I skip the gym for a glass of wine (or three). Sometimes I pass up a Chinese takeaway for a healthy home made stir fry. I know the agony of unexplained weight gain when you’ve been SO good. I know what it feels like to go to an aerobics class on your own. I still have a long way to go but I’m sure that I can do it with a positive approach to nutritious food.
