After my first session with a nutritional therapist, I could see how my food choices were causing my symptoms and affecting my health. After an elimination diet of wheat and dairy, I deduced that wheat was the culprit. Having completed a seven day food diary, it became apparent that wheat featured quite heavily in my diet. Through nutritional therapy, I learned about eating varied diet with the emphasis on vegetables and a small amount of grains. My overhauled diet introduced me to a way of eating that increased my energy levels and inspired me to want to help people like me!
What is Nutritional Therapy?
Nutritional Therapy is the application of nutrition science in the promotion of health, peak performance and individual care. I will use a wide range of tools to assess and identify potential nutritional imbalances and understand how these may contribute to an individual's symptoms and health concerns.
How does it work?
Before the first consultation, I will send you a health and nutrition questionnaire to complete. The initial consultation will last for 60 minutes. I will ask detailed questions about current health concerns, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment, medical history, family history, lifestyle, levels of physical activity, use of medication, supplements and diet.
This will allow me to evaluate individual needs and use the extensive evidence base for nutritional science to develop a personalised, safe and effective nutrition and lifestyle plan.
Training, qualifications & experience
Trained at the College of Naturopathic Medicine in London.
I have a Diploma in Nutritional Therapy.
The 3 year course was combined with theory and we had to complete 200 clinic hours where we observed and took 5 case studies in our final year.
