Ro Huntriss (Consultant Dietitian): BSc (Hons), PGDip, MSc, MClinRes, RD
I'm a UK Registered Dietitian with a Bachelor's degree in Food Studies and Nutrition, a Master's degree in Advanced Nutrition and have a Master's degree in Clinical Research. Alongside my qualifications and publications in academic journals, I also have over 6 years of NHS experience and have been running my freelance business for four years which is continually growing and expanding.I have the qualifications and the experience but also have the characteristics and skills needed to help you to achieve your nutrition and health goals! My key areas of expertise are SUCCESSFUL weight management, gastro-intestinal disorders e.g. IBS (including FODMAP), food intolerance, Ulcerative Colitis etc., pancreatitis, diabetes, heart health and eating disorders. However I have considerable experience in a number of other areas which are listed on my profile.
I help clients to get results they have been striving to achieve for years and I am offering consultancy more and more to well-known businesses and brands that require nutritional expertise.
On an individual level, my aim is to help you to achieve your personal nutrition goals. I offer different services which are listed below, but am also able to create bespoke packages and services as per your requirements.
I offer home visits so will come to your place of residence or other agreed locations if preferable. The benefit of coming to your home is the fact that it allows me to understand your current environment and eating habits enabling me to inform an appropriate plan for you. Home visits allow for an in-depth assessment and understanding of your current situation and really get down to the finer details of what is going on currently and what needs to happen to ensure your success.
Dependent on your goals, the number of sessions you require may vary. For some conditions or enquiries, one session may suffice. My weight management patients generally benefit from blocks of sessions if they require continued support. Discounts are applied for block sessions.
I am due to be setting up a clinic in Horsforth, Leeds, in November. Please get in touch for more details.
I offer a 3 week meal plan which incorporates 7 different breakfasts, 7 different lunches, 7 different evening meals and at least 7 different snacks dependent on your food likes and dislikes. Your plan will be made in accordance with your current weight, your weight loss goal or dietary requirements, your rate of weight loss (if applicable) and specific preferences.
If you require nutritional consultancy for your business or brand please get in touch for a quote.

Training, qualifications & experience
I have worked in the NHS for several years gaining experience in many diverse clinical areas including gastroenterology, endocrinology, cardiology, surgery and ENT (Ear, Nose & Throat). Alongside my freelance work, I still work in the NHS as a Specialist Diabetes Dietitian and am soon to venture into the world of Bariatric (weight loss) surgery to expand my skill set and knowledge base further.
A big passion of mine is weight management and helping people to reach their weight loss goals, having helped clients to achieve the most fantastic results over the years. Another favourite is IBS and gut disorders (call me a geek, I know); I get so much job satisfaction out of helping somebody to understand their condition and be able to control their symptoms for, sometimes, the first time in many years. Similarly, helping patients to understand and control their diabetes, heart health, pancreatitis or less well-known conditions such as Reactive Hypoglycaemia, and helping people to effectively manage their condition, is why I love my job and why I would never want to leave it.
I have a Batchelor's degree in Food Science and Nutrition, a Master's degree in Advanced Nutrition, and a Master's degree in Clinical Research for which I was awarded a Distinction from the University of Manchester. The latter degree was obtained through a scholarship from the National Institute for Health Research who invested into me as a clinical academic practitioner.
I'm a published primary author in peer-reviewed academic journals. My latest publication has just been accepted in one of top academic journals in Europe, the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition, a paper that considered the role of a low-carbohydrate diet in type 2 diabetes.
The reason why I became a Dietitian is so that I can help people to achieve their goals whilst knowing I have the knowledge and skills to be able to do so safely and effectively. If you feel I could help you reach your goals then please get in touch!
