I qualified in 2006 from the UK College of Nutrition and Health with a diploma in Nutritional Therapy. After graduation I spent six years working for the college as a programme leader and tutor on the Bsc programme.
I am an experienced and regulated nutrition clinician who works with individuals with a broad range of health conditions, helping them to improve their health through diet and lifestyle. I believe in listening to signs and symptoms that develop over time and acting on them with the aim of preventing these developing further. I will work with you to design a realistic individualised dietary and lifestyle programme that will help you to achieve your health goals.
I am trained to help support a broad range of conditions but my main areas of expertise are fertility & pre-conceptual care, weight management, digestion, female health, cardiovascular support, immune support, allergies and pregnancy.
Expertise and specialism
I specialise in supporting fertility and healthy pregnancy. After just one consultation you'll have a clear picture of what you can do to support your fertility or improve your pregnancy.
Research shows that what you eat (and what you don't eat) during pregnancy can have a profound effect on your health during pregnancy, as well as the health and development of your baby. Your baby depends on you for all the nutrients required for healthy growth and development, so it is important to eat as many of the foods that are best for your baby at each essential stage and to avoid the ones that are not.
When to start
I believe that the optimal health of both partners is essential for a healthy full term pregnancy therefore I advice that couples come to see me four months before trying to conceive. It takes three months for sperm to develop and for eggs to mature ready for ovulation so planning ahead is essential. Joint consultations for you and your partner are also available.
A pre-conceptual plan will identify any factors that could be affecting your fertility. Modern lifestyles, combined with the nutrient depletion of much of our food, have left many of us deficient in vital vitamins and minerals needed for conception. Together we will work on an achievable dietary and lifestyle plan to optimise your chances of a healthy pregnancy.
I practise in Forest Hill, South East London. I am also available for skype and telephone consultations.
I am a member of the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). A government recognised body. Practitioners on this register are recommended by the Department of Health as alternative health practitioners.
