Rossella Riccobono, DipION, mBANT, mCNHC
I am passionate about food and about using it in a targeted way to promote health and vitality. I work with clients who would like to re-discover themselves again as beautiful and energetic beings, and I specialise in looking after women 40+ who are going through mid-life changes. 40+ is a critical age for women as many of us may be experiencing fatigue, loss of energy, low mood, weight gain and less vitality than we would like to have.
I do that by offering Programmes (usually 3 months) so that my clients feel accompanied, supported and empowered through mid-life changes.
I also offer ad-hoc consultations, or programmes that involve both Nutritional Therapy and Yoga, linking physical strength and alignment together with optimum nutritional support.
My consultations, advice and holistic protocols are designed around the individual’s needs. Each body is a unique system depending on each individual’s eating habits, lifestyle, level of exercise and chemical/mental make up.
I offer Nutritional Therapy services from the beautiful and friendly Conan Doyle Centre in Edinburgh, where I operate from a confidential therapeutic room.
Training, qualifications & experience
Diploma ION in Nutritional Therapy
I have many years experience with nutrition having worked in the past with organic farms as a volunteer both in committees and with organic produce, with food supplement companies and with colleges offering Nutritional Therapy diplomas. I also have many years clinical experience with the general public. I am usually described by my friends and clients as a warm, caring and straightforward person. I connect easily with people.
Health means resilience and homeostasis, i.e. the harmony and balance of bodily (chemical and metabolic) functions. Appropriate food intake is a fundamental first step to maintain functional balance of our bodily system through correct nutrient intake, digestion, absorption and detoxification.
As a Nutritional Therapist I use my expertise and knowledge of food and food supplements based on the latest scientific research to create dietary protocols to address real-life needs and support optimum wellbeing.
I strongly advocate for consumption of fresh produce and filtered water as central to our diet in order to maximise nutrient intake for support of the digestive system and detoxification. My consultations are about re-education to food intake, therefore food protocols always precede the use of food supplements.

Nutritional consultations: what to expect
The first consultation typically lasts one hour and is charged at £60. For a slightly longer consultation that leaves space for in-clinic anthropometric measurements and simple free tests, 120 minutes are recommended at £90.
I work around your Nutritional Questionnaire and food diary and may ask further clarifications in some areas to gain a holistic view of your unique metabolic make-up and gauge possible imbalances.
A realistic, enjoyable and sustainable food protocol is negotiated with you taking into account food preferences, intolerances, ethical and lifestyle issues.
Further support is given by providing handouts, information sheets, recipes, shopping lists.
Tests may be suggested to further assess the body imbalance each client would like to address.
The second and third consultations last 60 minutes and are charged £50 if in person, or £45 if by Skype.
Typically in follow-up consultations test results are interpreted, health goals and the sustainability of the agreed food protocol are reviewed. When necessary, we aim to work in collaboration with your GP, following your legal consent to contact them.
