Lucy Patterson DipION FdSc mBANT CNHC passionately believes in the power of nutrition and the effect it can have on every aspect of our health and well being. She has a special interest in gut health, female health and hormonal imbalances including fertility, and weight management.
Lucy utilises a functional medicine based approach to gastro-intestinal imbalances, often using laboratory tests to identify or rule out underlying imbalances. Trained as a GAPS practitioner, she uses elements of GAPS, SCD or a low FODMAP diet (where appropriate) to create a unique plan that works for you.
Lucy works 3 days a week for Foresight Preconception as their head office Nutrition Practitioner. She is passionate about supporting people along their fertility journey, and to support people with pre existing health conditions to optimise their chances of a successful conception. Lucy brings a wealth of experience in preconception to her private practice for both men and women.
Lucy uses various proven weight loss techniques and programmes that are individually tailored to a client and their unique lifestyle, preferences and goals. She has had long-term success rate with various types of intermittent fasting, ketogenic diets, Paleo style diets, low carbohydrate programmes and high protein diets for targeted long-term weight loss and maintenance.

Training, qualifications & experience
Having graduated from the world-renowned Institute for Optimum Nutrition, science-based nutritional advice is one of the most important aspects in Lucy's practice.
Lucy Patterson is a fully qualified Nutritional Therapist, a full member of the British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutrition Therapy (BANT) and the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM) and is also registered with the Complementary Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), the only register for Nutritional Therapy recognised by the Department of Health, and abides by their strict codes of ethics and practice.
Lucy regularly attends continual professional development (CPD) training, seminars and conferences on genetics and nutri-genomics, obesity, fertility, diabetes, digestive disorders, female health and weight loss to keep up to date with the latest science and research.
Lucy works as lead Nutrition Practitioner for Foresight Preconception 3 days per week supporting individuals on their path to conception.
Lucy has set up Community Interest Company Community Health and Wellbeing, which delivers training courses to third sector agencies on how to improve nutrition for their service users.
Lucy has previously worked as Nutrition Consultant and Functional Food expert for international award winning retreat company Bodhimaya, Children's Charity Clover House, Corporate Wellness Company Work Life Body and Addiction Rehabilitation Services Bayberry Ltd. She has also worked in pharmacies as part of a new project called Face to Face Wellbeing Centres which see's BANT registered Nutritional Therapists working out of high street pharmacies.
Lucy has featured in the Bristol Evening Post and in the Guardian newspapers discussing nutrition and functional foods.
