About me

I am a registered Dietitian with the Health and Care Professions Council and I am passionate about promoting good nutrition for everyone to improve health and wellbeing. Through my private practice, Your Private Dietitian, I can offer one to one nutrition consultations in clinic, by telephone and by Skype. My specialist areas of expertise include:

Digestive problems including treatment of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) with the low FODMAP diet

Nutrition for infants and children

Pregnancy and preconception, and

Food allergies and food intolerances

I also offer a computerised dietary analysis package which will provide you with a detailed written report on the nutritional composition of your diet and how this corresponds to your estimated nutritional requirements, along with individually tailored dietary advice.

Training, qualifications & experience

MSc Allergy (University of Southampton – ongoing)

MSc Advanced Clinical Practice in Paediatric Dietetics (University of Plymouth, 2015)

The low FODMAP Diet for functional gastrointestinal disorders (King’s College London, 2011)

BSc (Hons) Dietetics (University of Plymouth, 2007)

Clinical experience

Whilst working in the NHS I gained experience with adult patients in a range of clinical specialties including care of the elderly, nutrition support, surgery, weight management, women’s and maternal health, and gastroenterology, before specialising in paediatric dietetics. After developing my knowledge and skills in general paediatrics I then went on to further specialise in ketogenic diets and paediatric gastroenterology, with a particular interest in intestinal failure. I have been the clinical dietetic lead for both these specialities and have managed the dietetic care of many children with a wide range of medical and nutritional conditions within these specialties.
