My name is Kevin Shore and I am the nutritionist and company director of Healthy Eating for Life Limited, which is a nutrition and healthy eating consultancy service in North Somerset. I am based in Weston-super-Mare, but offer home visits as part of my service. I will visit customers that live within a 20-30 mile radius of Weston-super-Mare. I also offer nutrition related advice online as well as on-going e-mail support.
I offer home visits at your convenience to people that live within a reasonable distance of Weston-super-Mare. All consultations can last for up to 90 minutes. If you prefer, you can receive healthy eating and lifestyle related advice online and receive a healthy eating and lifestyle plan sent to your e-mail inbox tailored to meet your specific health needs. Before the start of your first consultation, I would ask you to complete a food and drink diary for at least three days. We can discuss this food diary during the first consultation and talk about your diet and lifestyle and how this can affect your health related goals. We can agree on targets for you to aim for and then following the consultation, I can produce a healthy eating and healthy lifestyle plan for you. The healthy eating plan is designed to be nutritionally complete and give you all the essential nutrients, vitamins and minerals that your body needs so that you can adhere to it in the long term and it will include information about standard portion sizes and the calorie composition of those portions. An exercise programme or a lifestyle plan can also be produced for you as part of the initial consultation. I can weigh you using electronic weighing scales during the consultation and calculate your Body Mass Index (BMI) as well as measure your body fat percentage.
As part of follow up consultations, I can carry out a full nutritional analysis using high quality nutritional software of your food diary and write a detailed report showing the composition of your diet in terms of your intake of carbohydrate, fat, protein, sugar and fibre, as well as all the essential vitamins and minerals and compare your intakes with recommended dietary reference values and give you advice on the foods you need to include in your diet to make it nutritionally complete. We can discuss the results of this nutritional analysis during a follow up consultation.

In summary, the consultation process will be as follows:

Discuss healthy eating and lifestyle plan and what to be included
Produce healthy eating and lifestyle plan for you following initial consultation
Nutritional analysis of your food diary and discussion of the results can be done during a follow up consultation
I would recommend having at least two consultations. This may be enough for some people, while others may want more, especially if you are looking for advice regarding weight management. A block of four consultations can be booked at a discounted rate. I also have a strong background in exercise science and sports nutrition and can combine healthy eating advice with advice regarding exercise. I believe in gradually making small changes to your diet and lifestyle that are realistic and can be made permanent to improve your health in the long term.
My dissertation projects involved interventions and strategies focusing primarily on weight loss and weight management. My main interest is in weight management and to promote weight loss and to keep the weight off permanently through healthy eating and increasing physical activity. With there being so many different types of diets available on the market, it can be difficult to decide which one is best for you. A lot of these diets have no scientific basis to support their theory and are only likely to work in the short term and you will pile the pounds back on when you return to your old dietary habits. I offer no quick fixes, but the advice is scientifically sound and will encourage you to make gradual changes to your diet and lifestyle that will give you great results in the long term.

I offer a nutritional analysis service to schools, care homes, nurseries and restaurants. A nutritional analysis can show how healthy your menu is and show whether it is meeting nutritional guidelines in terms of the carbohydrate, fat and protein contents as well as all the essential vitamins and minerals. Additionally, I can work with schools, care homes, nurseries and restaurants and do nutrition and healthy lifestyle talks to residents, staff and students, run workshops and seminars (e.g. cooking classes, the benefits of five a day, why fad diets do not work), monitoring food intake of residents in care homes and ensuring that they are getting all the essential nutrients that they need. I offer home visits as part of my service at your convenience and supermarket trips if you would like advice on understanding food labels and making healthier food choices.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified Public Health Nutritionist. I graduated in 2009 with a BSc (Hons) Degree in Public Health Nutrition at the University of Wales Institute Cardiff. I also have a BSc (Hons) Degree in Exercise Science, which I completed at the University of Brighton in 2003.
I have experience of working in the NHS with a variety of hospital inpatients and community outpatients. I have worked with individuals patients as well as running group health promotion sessions. Additionally, I have experience of analysing menus and people's food intake using nutritional software. I also run a video blog on YouTube where I regularly upload videos and discuss a number of nutrition and healthy eating based topics.

I am particularly keen to hear from people who want to lose weight and keep it off. Maybe you have tried numerous diets in the past and now realise that eating a healthy balanced diet and increasing physical activity is the answer. Also, I am keen to hear from people who need help with controlling blood sugar, improving heart health, improving bowel health and improving bone health.
I offer discounts to people who want long term support. You can book four consultations for £200, which is a total saving of £60. The 90 day package includes a total of 26 sessions (less than £39 per session) and is for those people who are very serious about losing weight and improving their health and will work very hard to get the desired results. If you want to lose weight on this 90 day package, you can expect to lose 1 Ib per week just by following the healthy eating plan alone. With regular exercise during the week as well, you can expect to lose a total of 2 Ib per week and the best part of 2 stone during the whole 90 day package.
