About me

Bespoke one to one diet and lifestyle programmes with tailor made meal plans, shopping lists and regular check-ins to help you achieve your goals. I specialise in female hormonal health and weight management.

I am a nutritional therapist working in Marlow, Bourne End, Cookham, Henley-on-Thames,  and Maidenhead and via skype. I have a personal interest in hormonal health and autoimmune diseases and have undertaken extra training in this area.

I follow the principles of functional Medicine which sees the body as a whole, integrated system, focussing on causes rather than symptoms of ill-health, using lifestyle changes (diet and nutrition, exercise, sleep and relaxation) as central to recovery. It is scientifically evidence based, and works very well alongside conventional medicine, and is a very effective tool, especially for chronic disease.

Taking the time to listen to your needs, recording your individual case history and assessing your diet, with the use of functional testing, where relevant, nutritional therapy looks at your nutritional imbalances and how these may contribute to your symptoms and health concerns.

By addressing these imbalances, adopting a nutrient dense diet and making lifestyle changes where needed, you can take back control of your health.

You will get a programme tailored to your individual needs to help you achieve your goals, working to your own pace.

If necessary, additional testing may be recommended. Some of the tests used include:

Comprehensive stool analysis
Food intolerance
Organic acids
Hormone profile
Thyroid Test

Testimonials

Helen was recommended to me by a friend. She is very knowledgeable & has a pleasant and caring approach which makes her nice to deal with. I would be really happy to recommend her to anyone who wants to optimise their health and wellbeing or who has a specific issue they want to address. I felt as if she genuinely cared about how I was and tried to improve my situation. I have a number of health issues and she worked hard to provide useful research and new ideas of things to try. A real find. Ms Hickman

I would fully recommend working with Helen. During our first discussion we set a clear goal as to what I was looking to achieve, which was to improve my energy levels, gut health and balance blood sugar levels. She guided me with such a deep understanding and knowledge of how the body works. I have experienced a lasting positive change both physically and mentally. Helen has provided me with recipes, supplements, information on vitamins and minerals, research and a level of understanding that will enable me to confidently continue to improve and support my health.  Amanda, Reading

Helen did a fantastic job with patiently guiding me through a low FODMAP diet. I’d wholeheartedly recommend her services to anyone looking to get their gut health under control. Thanks Helen!"  Andy, Downley

I came to see Helen having suffered on and off for around 8 years, I wanted a more personal and natural approach to help relieve my symptoms such as panic attacks, low mood and irritability. Helen chatted through my current lifestyle, and made a tailored action plan to address my symptoms individually and I was amazed at the difference it made. Helen explained the supplements she recommended, and the menu chart and recipes she gave me have been easy and delicious to follow. Thank you Helen for helping me on my way to recovery! Anna, Surrey

I came to see Helen in the hope that she could help me with my gut health problems which were starting to take over my life . After having a chat and doing a stool test I can happily say that I feel so much better, my symptoms have almost gone within a couple of months! I’m so glad that I found Helen and would gladly recommend her! Heather, Marlow
