About me

I qualified from the Institute for Optimum Nutrition in 1998, I have a particular interest in digestion and breathing problems. I like to work with clients in a practical and supportive way. I'm not a fan of restrictive or puritanical eating habits. I simply aim to provide workable solutions to health problems by focusing on good food and simple supplements.

I work with clients of all ages from babies, to pensioners with macular degeneration. As well as working one to one with clients, I am available for group and workplace talks and workshops.

I believe that nutrition is a very undervalued science in today's world. Giving the body the right raw ingredients for health is a fundamental step in the healing process.

Anyone can benefit from improved nutrition and it doesn't have to mean giving up all your favourite foods in favour of tofu and rice cakes.

Each programme is personally written to take into account the client's needs and circumstances.

Information about health conditions (*)

Nutritional therapy can help enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting nutritional therapy or making any major changes to your diet or lifestyle.

What Happens During a Consultation?

The first session lasts an hour. You will need to bring along your completed Nutrition Profile Questionnaire. We will talk through this and discuss your current health concerns and what you hope to get out of the sessions.

As well as health problems we'll also talk about what you eat at the moment and how any changes will fit into your current lifestyle. For example are you cooking for a family? Do you need to take your lunch to work? How much time do you have for cooking? I offer all my clients a zinc taste test included in the first appointment. This simple test can give an indication of your level of this important mineral.

I may also ask you to visit your GP for further tests.

At the end of our first session, I will give you your personal nutrition programme. This will include suggestions of foods to increase and decrease and details of any recommended supplements.
