I am also available for talks to groups. Please contact me for more information.
What to expect:
Prior to your initial consultation you will complete a detailed comprehensive questionnaire. From this information and taking into consideration your personal health goals I am able to devise a personalised nutritional plan tailored to your health requirements.
I can also advise and offer coaching on appropriate lifestyle changes that may enhance your health objective.
I may recommend including the use of certain nutritional supplements, some of which may only be for short-term therapeutic use. In addition, for some individuals I may suggest further laboratory tests (some of these may be available from your GP).
A sports nutrition consultation will take into consideration your training and competition plan, nutritional ergogenic support, nutritional injury and stress prevention strategies, individual gastrointestinal tolerance, timing of diet and nutritional intake as well as hydration and refuelling management for training and during competitions.
Often we are not aware of detrimental habits in our lifestyle. Becoming aware of such behaviour can be the trigger to wanting change and believing you can feel better. Such changes are often very simple and most people feel surprised at how easy change can be, leading to a more healthy and happy life.
From experience, I have found that once clients become aware of particular behaviours that are inappropriate for their health and well being, making simple changes can have quite a significant and immediate positive impact.
The consultation process also gives you the opportunity to pose any questions or concerns you may have regarding your health and lifestyle.
Food is a great passion of mine, I love good food, in fact my first degree was in Home Economics so I am quite comfortable in the kitchen and enjoy enthusing my clients with tasty and healthy inspirational recipes. I have also always been interested in sport and exercise. From walking holidays to fitness classes and from horse riding to scuba diving I love pursuing sporting activities.
During the nineties, whilst my children were small, I worked as a part time fitness instructor and personal trainer. Whilst working as a personal trainer I became even more fascinated with Nutrition, beyond just good tasting food. So when we returned to the UK, having lived abroad for many years I went back to University and completed a degree in Nutritional Therapy, graduating in 2003. Working part time as a Nutritional therapist I then did an MSc in Sports Nutrition and have assisted athletes from various athletic disciplines including equestrian athletes.
I am currently working with 365MarathonMan who is running a marathon every day from London 2016 to London 2017.
If you have specific sporting nutritional requirements please get in contact.
