Dr Elena Leschen (MD)
One Allan Park
My broad knowledge of Functional and Nutritional medicine underpinned by conventional medical training allows me to define unique personalised approaches to restoring health.
Patients I work with benefit from a comprehensive health and nutritional assessment based on my clinical analysis and appropriate functional laboratory testing. This leads to Personal Health Programmes that address the individual’s needs and goals inclusive of nutritional and dietary recommendations, lifestyle coaching, naturopathic and metabolic detoxification protocols amongst other methods of healing.
Your present state of health is the result of the interplay of many different factors over your lifetime, i.e. diet, lifestyle, stress levels, environmental toxicity, etc, and including your inherited strengths and weaknesses.
My practice approach is based on the understanding that every person is unique. Treating the person, not the conditions, I apply functional medicine principles aiming to identify and address the causes of dysfunctions in order to support healing.
Areas of particular interest are:
Women's health, fertility and nutritional support
SIBO, fungal overgrowth, IBD, etc
I offer personal and family consultations, group workshops and training sessions for practitioners.
Continuous Postgraduate professional development is a major factor helping me to achieve the highest standards of practice.
Training, qualifications & experience
Having practiced for over 12 years as a Medical Doctor, specialising in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 3 culturally diverse countries (Russia, Ghana, UK), I gained a lot of clinical and life experience.
However, I became increasingly aware of the limitations of conventional medicine and expanded my expertise far beyond it to include a postgraduate degree in Naturopathic Nutrition (College of Naturopathic Medicine, Edinburgh, 2008), and studying further in the areas of Functional medicine (Institute of Functional Medicine, USA) and Bioenergy medicine (NES Health).
My current practice approach is based on the principles of Functional / Nutritional Medicine. Understanding that every person is unique and treating the whole person, not the symptoms, my aim is to identify and address the root causes of dysfunctions in order to support healing and/or maintain your optimal health.
Your present state of health is the result of the interplay of many different factors over your lifetime, i.e. diet, lifestyle, stress levels, environmental, including your inherited strengths and weaknesses.
We all have ability to heal, however your personal journey will be as unique as you are in the approach required, experiences, length and level of commitment.
