Annabel Alder - Registered Dietitian RD, BSc Hons (First Class)
I am a registered dietitian with over 10 years’ NHS experience in leading teaching hospitals in both London and Brighton.
I also offer private consultations from my clinic in Hassocks and I would be delighted to see you in the evenings and at weekends to fit around your busy family and working lives.
Is your GP suggesting you need to start medications for your type 2 diabetes or to move on to using insulin. I have helped clients avoid this with just one consultation. I'll make it as easy as possible.
Perhaps you're struggling with IBS symptoms and don't know where to turn. I'll take a holistic approach, looking at all the physical and emotional triggers to help create a plan of action and offer you some real hope of relief.
Or, maybe, you simply feel that your diet and lifestyle is putting your health at risk?
I'm HCPC registered, so you can be certain there'll be no talk of detoxes, cleanses or any other fads.
My further training in behaviour change, motivational interviewing and mindful eating means that I can guide you in taking back control of your health and achieve a more positive relationship with food.
What can you expect when working with me?
I find it works best if we have an initial, free of charge, 10 to 15 minute chat. This helps you get to know me and I can assess whether I can help you immediately or whether further investigations via your GP would be appropriate.
The first appointment tends to last an hour and I will supply a written report of what we've discussed and, if you would like, a letter to your GP. For some clients, that's enough to get them on track; for others, follow up sessions of 30 minutes help us monitor changes and make further adjustments. This may be the case in irritable bowel syndrome or diabetes, for example. Whatever suits you. And, if you'd rather follow up with a telephone consultation then that is fine with me too.
Should you require a home visit, I would be happy to discuss this with you.
I don't carry out any tests or sell unnecessary supplements and vitamins but, if we decide that further investigations or vitamin/mineral supplements may be required, I will liaise with your GP about this.
I look forward to discussing how I can help you.
