A metabolic detox could change your view on life. Most people don’t realise just how many toxic substances we are exposed to every single day. They are in the foods we eat, the air we breathe, the water we drink, the body care products we lather ourselves in and the materials with which we surround ourselves. Even our own bodies continually produce toxins as a by-product of normal bodily functions, such as digestion and elimination, physical activity, combating disease and infection and dealing with stress.
The accumulation of these toxins in combination with modern nutrient-depleted diets, makes it imperative that we give our bodies a regular break throughout the year by avoiding food triggers and by eating nutrient-dense, supportive foods to help fuel our metabolic and elimination processes.

The ultimate metabolic detox programme is nutritionally balanced and encourages a diverse nutrient dense whole food diet. It is not calorie restricted but certain foods are excluded, while others are encouraged.
How does the ultimate metabolic detox work?
Although the detox is officially 14 days you will get the most out of the programme if you allow seven days to prepare your body and kitchen. During this seven day preparation phase you should cut down on or eliminate alcohol, caffeine and sugar and familiarise yourself with the recipe books and shopping lists provided. Once you have booked onto the detox I will be in touch to talk you through this preparation phase.
During days one to six and days 10 to 14, you will eat three meals a day plus snacks and a smoothie. You can choose whatever you like from the allowed foods list and the recipe book provides lots of inspiration. You can eat as much as you like so you will not go hungry. However, usually people find the wholesome foods that are encouraged to be much more satisfying than what they are used to, so they actually eat less.
Days seven, eight and nine are liquid-only days. This is particularly beneficial because approximately 50% of the body’s energy goes into digesting our food, so by giving ourselves a rest from constantly digesting we enable that energy to be used to cleanse, heal and restore the body. During this phase you can consume unlimited fruit and vegetable juices, soups and smoothies and you will drink three servings of Ultra Clear each day to support liver clearance.

An initial one hour consultation where I will make a detailed assessment of your current health, discuss your short and long term health goals and personalise the programme to your unique requirements. This can take place at either of my Bristol clinics or via skype.
A 30-minute follow-up consultation where we will measure your success, reflect on your experience and put a plan in place for safely reintroducing foods and continuing to work towards your long term health goals.
Your Nutri Advanced supplement pack which is a vital component of the programme and will help prevent the nasty side effects that are often associated with detoxes. Each of the five supplements support the cleansing process, help stabilise blood sugar levels, add fibre to encourage toxic release and overall support the body while the toxic load is eliminated.
All the support you need to make sure this programme is the success you are dreaming of. Support is always available via email and where necessary an additional phone consultation can be scheduled. The programme information pack which includes a comprehensive 'allowed foods' list, a recipe book with suggested breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack recipes (these are suggestions only and do not need to be followed), weekly menu planners and a shopping lists making shopping and cooking easy. It really couldn't be simpler to follow the programme because it's all laid out for you on a silver platter!
A diet diary to record how your body responds to different foods and drinks. This allows us to identify possible food sensitivities and intolerances and thereby eliminate niggling digestive complaints for good.

What foods are excluded?
This programme excludes most of the foods that commonly cause sensitivities: dairy, wheat, gluten, caffeine, soy, red meat, processed foods, sugar and sweeteners and alcohol. For those with allergic symptoms this may be a useful way of eliminating certain food groups to pin point sensitivities.

Will I experience any side effects?
During the detox your body will releases toxins that have been stored in your fat cells. As the kidneys and liver work to expel these you may experience symptoms such as headaches, alterations in sleep patterns, skin eruptions or a change in bowel habits. By taking the supplements which support your elimination organs you will greatly reduce these symptoms but they can still occur. Generally speaking, the more toxic your diet the more likely you are to suffer some side effects.
