Learn how to help people move on from body dissatisfaction and yo-yo dieting to make peace with food and their bodies. The focus on the mind-body link, body respect and gentle nutrition make this approach suitable for professionals helping clients with troubled eating, cravings, IBS and PCOS as well as those seeking an end to the misery of dieting.
This session explores the theory supporting the "Well Now" way, an evidence-based practice focused on health-gain and body respect used by nutrition professionals internationally.
It moves on to considering how to integrate social determinants of health into the clinical conversation. There are strong links between social factors and poor health outcomes. Perhaps paradoxically, when we are aware of how non-dietary factors influence health our interventions are more ethical, effective and scientifically robust.
This approach teaches kindful eating and compassion-centred care and addresses size stigma as recommended in the current NICE adult obesity guidelines.
Cost: £125 standard place, £110 when booking two days, £50 student rate per day.
The workshop is run by a dietitian and accredited by the Association for Nutrition.
