Who should book on this course?
This Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) course is designed for anyone working in a catering setting where food is prepared, cooked or handled.
Course duration: Six hours minimum
Assessment method: One hour examination consisting of 30 multiple choice questions.
QCA accredited: Yes.
Level: New level 2.
Why is this training important?
Everyone who works with food has a special responsibility for safeguarding the health of consumers and ensuring the food they serve or sell is perfectly safe to eat.
What are the learning outcomes?
- Learn the importance of food safety and gain knowledge of the systems, techniques and procedures involved.
- Understand how to control food safety risks (personal hygiene, food storage, cooking and handling).
- Gain the confidence and expertise to safely deliver quality food to the customer.
How will participants learn?
Through a mixture of group discussions, in-class participation and demonstration.
About the host
The one day course will be delivered by Rupert Aikman, a registered CIEH trainer and community nutritionist. His background includes the delivery of nutrition, healthy cooking and basic food hygiene programmes.
